On Tuesday, we harvested maize at the Enterprise Farm. The harvest this year was very big so even though we harvested a lot there was still a lot left.
On Saturday, we helped David Family harvest their maize. We worked from 8 until 11 and were able to finish harvesting both patches of maize.
well done, that looks like hot work! is the maize stored for the David family's use over the coming months, or shared with others at NHU, or sold at market? or ground to make flour?
ReplyDeleteThey grind most of it into posho. They have posho at almost every meal and the kids eat a lot.
DeleteThanks for explaining Christina!
DeleteThat basket must have been pretty heavy on top of your head. I hope you didn't drop it! I am sure I would have.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, I didn't drop it. It is actually a lot easier to carry than in your hands if you can get it balanced and actually on your head.
